Chronic pain is a complex clinical syndrome which involves sensory, affective, motivational, enviromental and cognitive components. In contrast to acute pain, chronic pain doesn’t respond to unimodal therapy. From medical and also from economic view, multidisciplinary approach which concern not only drug therapy but also other considerations such are behavioral, cognitive and physical showed to be more effective. Current management is based on the WHO concept of an „analgesic ladder“ which involves a simple stepwise to the use of analgesics and adjuvants. This allows considerable flexibility in the choice of specific drugs.
