Diabetes mellitus 2. typu + Alzheimerova choroba = diabetes mellitus 3. typu

Pojem „diabetes mellitus typu 3“ nie je všeobecne uznávaný. Vyskytuje sa skôr v populárno-náučnej a nie odborno-náučnej literatúre. Definícia tohto druhu diabetu je, že ide o taký DM 2. typu, ktorý sa vyskytuje u pacientov s Alzheimerovou chorobou. Diabetes mellitus 3. typu sa často nechápe ako samostatný typ diabetu, ale skôr ako súhrnné pomenovanie dvoch rôznych ochorení, medzi ktorými s najväčšou pravdepodobnosťou existuje prepojenie.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus + Alzheimer Disease = Type 3 Diabetes Mellitus
The term „type 3 diabetes mellitus“ is not generally accepted. It occurs in popular science rather than professional literature. The definition of this type of diabetes is that it is the type 2 DM that occurs in patients with Alzheimer disease. Type 3 diabetes mellitus is often not understood as a separate type of diabetes, but rather as a collective name for two different diseases, which are very probably connected.
