THE MANAGEMENT OF UTERINE FIBROIDS

SUMMARY

Uterine fibroids are the most common tumours of the woman reproduction system.
Despite the fact, that in most cases, the fibroids are asymptomatic, they may be a cause
of an abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, dyspareunia, infertility and pregnancy
complications. Nowadays, there is a whole spectrum of therapeutic possibilities
in treating the uterine fibroids. The choice of a treatment for each patient should
be strictly individual on the ground of several factors, such as patient’s reproduction
plans, the will to preserve the uterus, and the exact type and severityof symptoms.
