Goodpasture´s syndrome is one of severe complications of flu and to know the syndrome having regard to possible pandemic of avian flu is important. Goodpasture´s syndrome is a form of antibody quickly progressing glomerulonephritis (GN) with progression to renal failure, bleeding to the lungs and haemoptysis. Aetiology of smoking and contact with organic solvents plays an important role. The authors give a brief survey of pathogenesis (antibodies against glomerular basal membrane, T cells, macrophages, local haemocoagulation), they specify clinical and laboratory picture. The need of fast diagnosis is emphasized, therapy with methylprednisole, cytotoxic immunosupressive medications, and mainly plasmapheresis is recommended. The prognosis of Goodpasture´s syndrome is severe and it depends on early diagnosis.
