Recent years have brought substantially changed view to vesicoureter reflux (VUR) and s.c. reflux nephropathy with unfavorable prognosis VUR is autosomal dominant genetic disease, i.e. it is not caused by recurrent infections of uropoetic system. Number of recurrent infections of uropoetic system is not substantially increased by VUR. VUR is not the primary cause of reflux nephropathy. In diagnosis of VUR USG-cystography is used with microbubble solutions. Scanning with 99mTcDMSA is the most reliable method for diagnosis of reflux nephropathy. There are no advantages of surgical treatment in comparison with conservative therapy and benefits of long-term antimicrobial therapy compared with early short-term therapy were not proved.
