Objectives: The aim was to measure parameters of blood flow velocity in coeliac artery (CA) and superior mesenteric artery (AMS) by Doppler ultrasonography in early postnatal period. Methods: This study included 15 infants. The examinations were performed in newborns after the completion of 38 gestation weeks, 2, 4 and 6 hours after birth. Results: Values of EDV in AMS changed from negative to positive during 6 hours after birth (- 11, 43 ± - 5.39 cm/s vs. 9.7 ± 6.8 cm/s, p < 0. 001). In TC values of EDV were relatively static. Conclusion: Results of our study suggested, that dramatic changes in splanchnic circulation occur in early postnatal period, mainly during first 6 hours.
