Childhood overweight/obesity is a serious health problem. To develop effective prevention strategies is necessary to know its causes. Self-regulation of energy intake protects baby from inadequate weight gain. Self-regulation of energy intake is driven by internal cues of hunger, satiety, and may be damaged by inappropriate feeding practices of parents. In the prevention of overweight/obesity it is very important to refer on inadequate child feeding practices.
