Hemangiomas are the most common benign vascular tumors of childhood that pediatricians often encounter during their practice. In clinical practice, hemangiomas are often misdiagnosed as vascular malformations and vascular malformations on the other hand as hemangiomas - most frequently infantile hemangiomas (IH), leading to incorrect therapeutic procedures. This article focuses on the treatment of infantile hemangiomas with a non-selective beta-blocker. The aim of this treatment is to prevent or reduce the growth of IH in order to reduce the risk of ulceration, bleeding, or gradual deformation or distortion that would be imminent without treatment.
