Diffuse gliomas are among the most frequent brain tumors. Surgical treatment of gliomas is the first option treatment.
Infiltrative growth and involvement of eloquent areas are typical characteristic of these tumors. Despite the use of
microscope during surgical procedure, borders of tumor are often not clear. Therefore the use of medical technologies
such as neuronavigation, intraoperative imaging, the use of 5-aminolvulonic acid and modalities of electrophysiological
neuromonitoring are necessary. Usage of these modalities during surgical procedure leads to higher extent of resection
and make surgical procedure safer. Gross total resection with adjuvant oncological treatment improves quality
of life and overall survival of patients.
