Massive haemorrhage is potentialy lethal particularly when associated with coagulopathy, hypothermia, and acidosis. The authors undertook a systematic search of the English literature to review treatment strategies for a life - threatening pelvic haemorrhage in obstetrics and gynecology. They searched the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE /PubMed database using the keywords pelvic bleeding. The non - surgical and surgical methods for achieving of hemostasis in the pelvic area are described.
