Vaccination is one of the most effective means to prevent infectious diseases. To be effective and in order to minimize
the adverse events after vaccination as much as possible, the basic principles of right vaccination must be respected.
The authors briefly explain the basis of vaccination and immunological principles; they define the main types of vaccines
and indicate the presence of several factors that can affect the outcome of vaccination. The main emphasis is on
the process of vaccination, such as the vaccine handling, the administration of the vaccine and the necessity of the individual
approach to vaccine recipients.
