Spondylodiscitis or spinal epidural abscess respectively is a rare affection in adult population. Spondylodiscitis due to
oesophageal perforation is much more rare. There are some spontaneous perforations and also injuries of oesophagus
after surgical procedures for example on cervical spine. Our casuistry is an example of multimodal therapy of the complication
of spontaneous oesophageal rupture, which lead to severe neurological deficit and lifethreatening situation.
There is literature in a discussion, which covers this topic and simultaneously, there is written the critical retrospective
overview of our medical steps taken to treat this patient
