We report a case of 80-year-old man with sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, “Man-in-the-barrel syndrome.” It is
neurodegenerative disease characterized by degeneration of motor neurons of the upper limbs. We would like to focus
on the main problems in the differencial diagnosis of this sporadic variants of the ALS and point out not only to the
aspect of the prognosis,but also to the aspect of quality of patient‘s life.
