The golden standard for Wilms’ tumour (WT) of the kidneys in childhood is radical nephrectomy. Considering the good
results of nephron sparing surgical technique (NSS) at bilateral WT this surgical technique starts to be implemented also
in unilateral affliction. The patients after NSS have excellent oncological results, at preservation of a sufficient renal
function and so also a better quality of life. The paper presents an overview of current indications related to literature
and own experience.
