Cardiac arrhythmias are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. An early and appropriate diagnosis should
be than a priority. Non-invasive and invasive diagnostic tools are available. The purpose of this short review is to
describe the use of implantable loop recorder REVEAL in the diagnostic evaluation of patients with arrhythmias.
It is an implantable patient-activated and automatically-activated monitoring system that is implanted in the left
prepectoral area and records subcutaneous ECG. We describe the current perspectives of the device, its role in light
of the cardiology societies guidelines and position papers, and present clinical practice.
