After diagnosis preoperative staging is decisive for the determination of optimal therapeutical
procedure in an oncological patient, based on modern imaging methods
in developed countries. Still more attention is focused on ultrasound in preoperative
staging. In comparison with other imaging modalities the advantage is its low price,
good availability, short time, comparable or better accuracy, possibility to perform
dynamic tests and absence of radiation burden for a patient.
The submitted paper presents the methodology of preoperative staging through ultrasound
in cervical carcinoma.
