Evaluation of sonographic findings during pregnancy is limited. Equipment modality, skill of sonographer, examination procedure, characteristic of structures and visualisation conditions are factors of contributions. Validity of sonographic diagnosis in the first trimester pathology and guidelines for detection of foetal anomalies are discussed. Combined method of foetal biometry and Doppler flowmetry in detection of intrauterine growth restriction is mentioned. Understanding and acceptation of limiting factors increases the efficiency of prenatal sonography.
