The authors report a case of a 42-year-old patient presenting with a painless lump in the upper lateral quadrant of the
right breast medially from the anterior axillary line. Upon preoperative work-up including breast ultrasound and NMR,
and mammography, the patient underwent mammotome biopsy (vacuum assisted biopsy) with subsequent extirpation
of the pathologic lymph node. The histology of the specimen suggested the Castleman disease. The authors provide
the characteristics of this uncommon disease and underline the need for a further follow-up of the patient with
the above condition.
