The authors present a case report concerning a young boy who used to insert plastic tubes into his urethra during masturbation. This manipulation resulted in recurrent urinary tract infections. After treatment of such infections, further repeated insertion of these foreign bodies caused occasional staining on his underwear and microhaematuria without proteinuria. During one of these masturbations, displacement of a plastic tube into the bladder occurred. Severe haemorrhagic cystitis required urgent urologic examination with sonographic evidence of a foreign body in the urinary bladder which was removed cystoscopically.
