Objective: Presentation of a rare case of paratesticular dedifferentiated liposarcoma.
Methods: Authors present a case of 72-year-old male with a tumour of the spermatic cord measured 10.5 x 7.5 x 7.5 cm
and cured by radical orchiectomy. Tumour specimen were examined by light microscopic, immunohistochemical and
molecular genetic methods.
Results: Based on histomorphological and immunophenotypical features the tumour was evaluated as dedifferentiated
liposarcoma with focal heterogeneous myogenic differentiation.
Conclusion: In discussion the authors point out the basic clinical and morphological characteristics of dedifferentiated
liposarcomas of the spermatic cord with the focus on their diagnostic criteria, biologic behaviour and therapeutic options
of these rare neoplasms.
