Teenage pregnancy is very much subject to debate which is dealt with the general
public as well as experts in gynaecology, psychology, sociology, as well as teachers.
The World Health Organization considers births before the 19-th year as timely and
inappropriate. The highest percentage of pregnant adolescent girls are from ethnic
minorities with the low socio-economic standard. Pregnant adolescents have a higher
incidence of complications. So there is a higher maternal mortality and morbidity.
