A gossyphiboma or textiloma is a term for a foreign object forgotten in a patient’s body
during surgical procedure. The most common foreign objects are cotton towels,
pads and compresses. They can mimic tumours or abscesses clinically or radiologically
with various symptoms. We present two cases of forgotten cotton towels in the
abdominal cavity during gynecological laparotomy.
