Sexual differentiation and gender identity are conditioned genetically, hormonally, by external and internal sexual organs
and sexually „gender“ identity. They are affected by the prenatal influences (epigenetics, intrauterine development)
and post-natal (central nervous system, the effect of the surroundings). Sexuality is an important part of the
life of a woman. It has a profound effect on her reproductive function. Therefore it is important to have the knowledge
of its development from childhood to adulthood. At each stage of sexual development can be noted its reflection in
specific gynaecological problems and diseases. The education of not only parents but also professionals is needed.
