Transplantation of the liver is sporadically indicated in benign tumors. in hepatocellular carcinoma (usually in liver cirrhosis) it is indicated only if extrahepatal spread is excluded. Good results are got in early stages. To evaluate the stage okuda classification, CLIP, BCLC or TNM is used. Further indications represent hepatoblastoma and epithelioid hemangioendothelioma metastses of some neuroendocrine tumors like carcinoid. In cholangiocarcinoma posttransplantation prognosis is bad.
