Chronic autoimmune thyroiditis also called Hashimoto´s thyroiditis is the most frequent type of thyroiditis as well as the most frequent autoimmune endocrinologic disease. The most often extrathyroidal symptomes of the disease are musculoskeletal manifestations with a various etiopatogenetic mechanisms. Except of manifestations of thyroid dysfunction i.e. hypo and hyperthyroidism, there is an eligible effect of thyroid autoimmunity to connective tissue and/or coexistence of other autoimmune diseases e.g. some connective tissue diseases.
