Acute intoxications represent aetiologically a very frequent cause of hospitalization in intensive care units (ICUs). It is a very heterogeneous group of nosologic units which differ in the clinical picture but also in therapeutical process depending on an evoking toxic noxa. In our work we processed and evaluated the cases of acute intoxications admitted to the intensive unit care in the district hospital from June 2010 to May 201. We evaluated presence of particular toxic noxas, mechanism of intoxications in consideration of predominantly suicidal intentions; we monitored the length of hospitalization in ICU as well as patients’ prognosis.
