The aim of the study is to show applicable indications of particular endoscopic palliative methods in the treatment of oesophageal carcinoma and their possible complications. Endoscopic palliative treatment indicated in patients with severe carcinoma of the oesophagus has been recently significantly developed. New methods of endoscopic treatment enable to avoid in many cases highly palliative surgical gastrostomy . Ablative methods can be effective mostly for polypoid tumors debulkyzation. Self-distensible stents are effective in palliation of narrow stenoses caused by circullarly growing tumors. Photodynamic treatment can be used in tumors localized in the gullet. However, dilation effect is short-term. New, more effective and safer methods of palliative treatment of this disease have been consistently studied.
