Chronic renal ischemia induces the complex response of organism resulting in renovascular hypertension, ischemic nephropathy or cardiac instability. Percutaneous renal intervention with stent implantation is a method of choice for revascularization of the symptomatic and haemodynamically significant renal artery stenosis. Up to now, randomized studies have not answered the question of real clinical benefit of renal intervention. However, they help to set up the course of further discussion and research in the field of renal revascularization. The main goal is the proper patient selection, and hence the clinical benefit improvement of appropriate renal intervention.
