Isolated nocturnal hypertension, represents at present the new clinical entity in the field of hypertension. However,
importance of measurements also night blood pressures is known already for longer period of time, ambulatory blood
pressure monitorings brought us suprisingly new diagnostic findings. Mainly that there exists also a group of patients
having their increased blood pressure levels isolated, only during the period of night. As the tight correlations of target
organ damage and nocturnal hypertension and cardiovascular mortality have been found, diagnosis of this clinical entity
can play the important role for the patient in the future.
