Endoscopic ultrasonography regarding direct proximity with parenchyme pancreas is an ideal diagnostic and therapeutic method for pancreatic collection. Diagnostic accuracy in differential diagnostics of cystic pancreatic lesions is enhanced by fine needle EUS-guided aspiration biopsy. Cytological, cultural and biochemical examination of aspirated fluid can help distinguish pancreatic pseudocysts from pancreatic cystic tumors. Development of linear endosonographs with a wide working canal has enabled the progress of EUS-guided drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts. This therapeutic intervention is currently regarded as the method of choice.
