UV irradiation represents a risk – factor for the skin of majority of people living in our part of world. Their „genetic equipment“ manifested by the Ist or IInd phototype of the skin isn´t a natural factor protecting them from damage evidently caused by UVA and UVB rays. The change of lifestyle, typical for the developed world in the last decades is followed by the changes in occurence and distribution of skin diseases caused by UV irradiation in the population. There is a wide range of consequences, among them benign like photoaging of the skin but also serious like lentigo maligna melanoma.
